Obituary of Arun Bhattacharya

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Arun Bhattacharya on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the age of 75 at Henley Place, London. Beloved husband for 47 years of adored wife Ujjala. Respected and loved father of Moshmi and Andy, Himadri and Nanda, and Moumita. Cherished dadu of grandsons Micah, Kanan and Aidan. Revered brother of Shriprakash, Shipra, Putul, Bubu and Gopal. Predeceased by his parents Mira and Gurudas. Arun, a Professor of Engineering was dedicated to his profession and students. He was a wise, courageous and compassionate father and husband. He loved classical music, being outdoors and the beach. A great self advocate for his own health and for others. Though Parkinson’s Disease took his body, it did not take his independent, proactive mind and spirit. He will be forever missed. Special thanks to Arun’s health care providers: Henley Place staff, LHSC University Emergency/Neurology/Internal Medicine and CCU teams, and London EMS services. Visitors will be received at a memorial reception on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.
