Dear Joyce, Please accept both Kim's and my condolences. David was kind enough to email me the news about Estelle. I wish I had made more of an effort to keep in touch with both of you. For this I apologize. The last time I saw you and Estelle was at Winnie's birthday and she told the story about the two of you coming back through the airport security with a slightly illegal item in your bags. She always knew how to tell a story and keep you in suspense. I will always be grateful for both of you for coming to Dad's (Fred Hollis) 90th birthday and the day that the fire alarm was set off and Murray tried to quiet it down. Dear Joyce, I feel so privileged to have had you and Estella for neighbours. My first and lasting memory is of you bringing over muffins to welcome your new neighbour (me). Your afternoon "teas" have been a good way to get to know and stay in touch with neighbours. I learned about hospitality from you. I am impressed by your loving children and grandchildren as they care for you and visit frequently. From Estella, I have learned so much about gardening and finding humour in everyday simple life situations. We have several plants and a very special Rosebud tree in our yard, received from Estella. I called Estella our next door "over the fence "neighbour , because that's were we had most of our conversations. Frequently, I was treated with a new joke or humourous story. Of course, I got to enjoy another gift of hers, as she played piano at our afternoon neighbourhood "teas". We will miss Estella and be reminded of her endearing personality, especially when out in our yard and gardens. Love Ruth and Maggie

Dear Joyce and family, I was so sad to hear your news about your sister Estella. I only met Estella once when I had my most memorable holiday in Canada with you, Paddy and family way back in 1978. It was definitely one of my most treasured memories and meeting your sister was such a joy. I will never forget her making a pumpkin pie, I had never tried that before as it wasn't well known in England at the time but it was lovely! I have never had it since, maybe that is a good thing as I wouldn't want to spoil the memory. I also remember Estella taking me for my first driving experience, as I was learning on a manual in England at the time her automatic car was pretty confusing, it was probably appropriate that my "lesson" was driving in a cemetery, I nearly ensured we all ended up joining the residents! I will always remember your sister as being a warm, kind, soul who had a great sense of humour, it was such a privilege to have met her. Dad Tommie sends his love and condolences and thanks you for your messages. He has never been good at writing letters and is less so since Mum passed. From all the Neelys over the pond to our Canadian cousins we send all our love and will be thinking of you all at this sad time. Love Kevin.
