I met Roland in 1975 when he became my son's paediatrician, from there Roland went on to take care of our next three children born to our family. Day or night Roland was there for us. Dr. Carson was our children's pediatrician since 1992 and has played a very important role in their lives through his medical expertise but more importantly as a counselor through some very difficult times. He has given over the years the physical and mental support that is undoubtedly a true representation of his dedication to his patients and their families. He has always been a true professional in his field with such humility and compassion that is a rarity in today's society. Dr. Carson not only cared for his patients but also for the family members. He always took the time to make sure that the family members were taken care of as well, especially in difficult situations of medical crisis. He worked tirelessly with warmth that made you feel instantly at ease and knew that he truly cared. Dr. Carson and his staff possessed a graciousness and warmth that was unparalleled. We are truly saddened by the news of his passing. Dr. Carson Was an amazing human being. He was such a kind and devoted Doctor and loved and cared about all of his children. The last time I visited with my son this year, I looked at him and asked when he would retire and rest a little bit.... he just smiled and said "when they take me out in a stretcher". I had know Roland for over 3o years he was our neighbour, my friend, my childrens doctor, my adult childrens doctor, my spouses doctor, my fathers doctor, my grandsons doctor and most of all he was ALWAYS there for me whenever I needed to talk. His voice was reassuring and he always found time for me even when I was drowning in the sea of uncertainty while raising my daughters, he was our rock in so many stormy times. I haven't been able to do a condolence as I have found the loss of Roland very hard. It has been a while now, and some days it feels like we just lost him. The thing about Dr Roland Carson is, if he was you Dr it didn't end there, he was like family. He came into our lives years ago as my brother Joe, who passed in 2006, and was handicapped, had been referred to him after our paediatrician Dr Dennison passed away. My brother needed to have a paediatrician for his care and so we all got to know him, had him take on our children at young ages and he had them and me until he could no longer practice. I remember when my brother was in Victoria Hospital and was very ill and they consulted with Roland but didn't in the least take into consideration Roland's advice, (which was the right advice) having had my brother for over 30 years. He was sent home and passed away a month later. Roland came to our home to pronounce him and you could see the pain in his eyes. After one of my children's appointments, he asked me to stay back and with upset in his eyes, apologized to me about our Joe. I said to him, and I stand by it in his memory, 'Beautiful Dr, you did everything right and it's not on you that they didn't listen. You were family to him and he adored you so just keep on doing the good you do and caring so much about your patients'. There has not been many other Dr's with the compassion Roland had. His staff always pleasant and polite and just a great team. He will forever be missed more as family than friend, than Dr. He meant so much to so so many and his legacy will always live on. ~You are missed Roland~ ❤️❤️

He became part of our family and was at weddings and was ALWAYS there when we needed him. We are very sad to hear of your passing. Most children reactions to having a doctors visit is not pleasant but my daughters made excuses to go see doctor Carson because he was the most wonderful doctor we have ever had. He would also take care of mom and dad and we would leave in such great spirits. We would joke about seeing his video at the hospital when you had a baby! You will truly be missed. He was Mason's Dr. who originally diagnosed him with Sydenham's Chorea but once I had done the research to discover he was better diagnosed with the uncommon and not yet established PANDAS, he was totally on board with doing whatever it took to make Mason better. If it weren't for him knowing about the strept infection causing Mason's symptoms in the first place we would never have been able to get where we are today with the successful treatment of Mason's symptoms without the use of horrible psychiatric drugs that cause other problems and often don't even calm the symptoms anyway. London has lost a truly dedicated and well educated, caring doctor. He will be greatly missed by all who new him.
