Obituary of John Donald Strupat

November 27, 1922 - May 2, 2012 Passed away peacefully at the Leisureworld Caregiving Centre in Etobicoke, Ontario on May 2nd, 2012, in his 90th year. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothea (nee Rogers), his mother Rose Strupat (nee Chittick) and father Julius Strupat, brother George, and sisters Helen (Caston) and Anna (Bruce). Dearly devoted father of Lynda (Adcock) and Susan (Blake) and sons-in-law Bob and Carroll; wonderful grandfather to Catherine Adcock, Jennifer (Paul) Minstrell, Todd (Michelle) Emeny and Travis (Irene) Emeny; and a loving great grandfather to Christian and Rachel Minstrell; Brandon and Christine Emeny; Jacob, Lucas and Nicholas Emeny. Survived by loving brothers Ronald and Donald; Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews who have been very special to him such as Carole and Pam. John will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. John will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, good nature, love of his family, generous and strong spirit. He was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and spent his early years down east before the family moved to London Ontario. John cherished all of his family and in particular all of the times spent at Ipperwash Beach walking on the beach and playing cards. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Monday, May 7th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Private family interment will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. We will miss his smile, his laugh, his sense of humour, his strength, his wit, and most of all his love. We will cherish our memories in our hearts. Happily together with Mom forever.
