Obituary of Dale LeVerne Kenzie

April 30, 1936 ~ January 25, 2020 Dale LeVerne Kenzie, son of the late LeVerne and Myrtle (née Hall) Kenzie, of London, Ontario, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 after a long illness. Dearly loved husband of Alice (née Rawlings) for more than 58 years. Cherished father of Melanie (Ed Gillies) and Alison (Michael Oosterhoff). Survived by his brother, Robert (Janis) Kenzie; his brother-in-law, Robert Rawlings; and his sister-in-law, Janet Harding. Predeceased by his sister, Faye Fregin and brothers-in-law, Ken Fregin and Peter Harding. Unfailingly positive, Dale enjoyed life to the fullest and wanted those around him to do the same. He was an artist and voracious reader, a fan of classic cars and Frank Sinatra, and an intensely curious person who embraced learning throughout his life. He was also a respected pharmacist for over 40 years; first at Kenzie Pharmacy in Richmond Hill, Ontario and then in London, Ontario, where he made an indelible mark on the Cherryhill community. A mentor to colleagues and quiet leader of change in his profession, Dale cared deeply about his staff and his customers. He will be missed by his extended family and all those who had the honour of knowing him. A memorial service will be held in London, Ontario in the coming months to celebrate Dale’s life. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Dale are asked to consider Hydrocephalus Canada (http://mybrainwaves.ca/donate-now/) or Museum London Foundation.
