Obituary of William George Gilbert Dow

Lovingly cared for by his family, Bill died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (Tummonds) of 61 years. Loving father of Rebecca Clark (Stephen), Sue Latta (Don), Martha Dow, Heather Dow (John Meulendyks) and his late son Jimmie (1955). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Miranda, Nathan, Tyler, Adam (Jennifer), Hannah, Will, Avery, Nolan, Ethan and great-grandchildren Chase, Blake and Emily. Lovingly remembered by his brother Ron Dow (Linda). Bill will be fondly remembered as a kind and caring gentleman by all who knew him: many relatives, friends, fellow LTC employees and the congregation at Dundas Street Centre United Church. His neighbours will miss the “Mayor of Thornton Avenue.” Visitation on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Cremation with a private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Centre or Dundas Street Centre United Church.
