Obituary of Janja Miletic (nee Trgovcevic)
Peacefully with family by her side, at her home, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, Janja Miletic, of London, in her 92nd year, ended her long-fought battle. Beloved wife of the late Milorad Miletic for 40 years. Loving mother of Susan Miletic-Mizzi, and devoted mother-in-law to Paul Mizzi. Adored Baba (Grandmother) of Tayler Mizzi. She is survived by her brother Tony (Roswita) Trgovcevic, of London, and sister Marija (late Mato) Jelic, of Slavonski Brod, Croatia. In 1958, Janja and Milorad immigrated from Jugoslavia to St.Thomas, Ontario to be with Milorad’s sister, Louise Mikustak and her family. Later they were joined by Milorad’s entire family: his parents (late) Jovan and Kristina Miletic; his brother (late) Milanko (Mary) Miletic; and his sisters Erika Miletic-Davis and Marianne Knesic. Janja was predeceased by her parents Blaz and Ava Trgovcevic, and by her older brother Mato (Amelia) Trgovcevic. Janja, or to most people “Baba”, will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Croatia and Canada. She was known over the years as always having an open door for all friends and family. The words “come sit and eat” were what she was known for, along with her incredible baking skills. She always shared everything she had. In her later years, Janja enjoyed her constant companion “Bandit” and all of Tayler’s wonderful friends coming over and giving Baba hugs and kisses. Many loving memories to hold dear in our hearts! She is now truly an angel. Many thanks are given to all of Baba’s Doctors, Nurses, PSWs including Ali, Lorilei, Melissa (Sena), Alice and Sonia. A special thanks to the most loving and caring individual for Janja, Dr. Cathy Faulds, who has been part of our family and care team for 30 years. A funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Janja are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
