Obituary of Samuel 'John' Shirley

Peacefully with family by his side, at Dearness Home, on Sunday, February 2, 2020, in his 90th year. Cherished husband of the late Marilou Shirley (2008). Loving father of Megan (Bryan) Madu, of Vancouver, and John (Cathy) Shirley, of London. Proud Granddad of Spencer, Liam, Conor, and Ty. Survived by his sister Myra Bradley, and by his in-laws Ruth Gourley and John (Mary) Gourley. Predeceased by his brother George Shirley; sister Vera Atkinson; and brother-in-law Spencer Gourley. John will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
