Obituary of Robert Kenneth 'Scott' Carswell
Passed away in London, Ontario on Monday, January 20, 2020, due to complications arising from Parkinson disease. Scott was born in Chatham, Ontario on April 7, 1955. He attended Hamlet Public School, King Lear School, and Stratford Central Secondary School, all in Stratford, Ontario. He earned a master's degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario. He worked many years for Young Drivers of Canada. Scott had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed travelling within Canada, the United States, Italy and Central America. He was an avid reader, theatre-goer and train enthusiast. Scott will always be remembered for being kind, loving and patient. He is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Kenneth Carswell. Scott will be dearly missed by his brothers David (Pat) and Tom; and close friend Janice Emery. Fondly remembered by his uncles Ken and Doug; nieces Stacey and Caitlin (Noel); nephew Sean (Cara); grandnephew Calvin; grandnieces Mira and Abigail; and cousins. The family expresses their deepest thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at Henley Place long term care. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 3:00 ~ 5:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Scott are asked to consider Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or Diabetes Canada.
