Obituary of Vince Bogdanski

Peacefully on Tuesday, December 24th, 2019, surrounded by the love of his wife and brother at Victoria Hospital in London, Vincent Bogdanski of London at the age of 76. Loving and devoted husband of Patty (nee King) Bogdanski. Cherished brother of Helen Tripp, Edward & Brenda Bogdanski and brother-in-law of Terry Koehler, Mary & Rick Kennedy, Julie & Pete Deans and Helen & Ron Cook. Vince will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents John & Sophia (nee Ukleja) Bogdanski, sister Kristine Koehler, brother-in-law John Tripp, parents-in-law George & Frances King and sister-in-law Ann King. Vince was born on January 4th, 1943 in Poland. After WWII, Vince, along with his mother Sophia, grandmother and older sisters Helen & Kristine immigrated to Canada where his father had previously immigrated. Vince married Patty on June 19th, 1976 and was a devoted husband for 43 years. He was very civic minded as shown by his membership with the Jaycees of Kitchener, Hamilton and then London. Vince became a licensed real estate agent in 1975 and a broker in 1981. He was also a residential appraiser and a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He was affiliated with the London and St. Thomas Real Estate Board, holding many positions within the board, including director from 1991-1994 and president in 1997. He was well respected in his profession and loved to catch up with his real estate buddies following his retirement in 2012. Vince loved any and all sports but especially loved football and travelling the world with his wife Patty. Vince and Patty spent several winters in Florida where Vince enjoyed golfing and socializing. Vince was also able to travel back to his country of birth, Poland several times and enjoyed visiting many family members who still reside there. Vince was also a fantastic cook, and was well known for his rib recipes among countless others. Vince was a dedicated member of St. Justin’s Parish in London and was a 4th Degree Knight within the Knights of Columbus, Council 8339 as well as an active member of the Optimist Club for many years. He cherished time spent with family and his friends and will be forever missed by all who knew him. Patty and family would like to express their gratitude for the expertise from many doctors over the years and we would like to thank them all. Thank you especially to Drs. Hamilton, Tai, Feldman, Blake and his secretary Julie, and Izawa for their many years of excellent care of Vince. Thank you to Drs. Slessarer and Deller, the nurses Karen, Diane, Georgie, Tracey, Becky, Lindsay, Glen and the rest of the team at CCTU LHSC for their compassion and expert care during his final illness. To the EMS response team, my sincerest thanks. To Sanal, our community nurse who was so helpful to us over the last few months, my deepest thanks. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. JUSTIN’S PARISH, 855 Jalna Boulevard, London on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Final resting place, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Teeswater, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to London Health Sciences would be gratefully accepted as expressions of sympathy.
