Obituary of Linda Ann Vandusen (née Connors)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Linda Vandusen announces her passing on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at LHSC – Victoria Hospital, at the age of 68. Predeceased by her son Jeffrey; mother Bernice Connors; sister Carol Connors; and mother and father-in-law Bea and Bill Vandusen. Survived by her loving spouse Peter Vandusen; father Roy Connors; sisters Joan Thompson (Ben Lasko) and Laura Connors; and brother Ted Connors (Lisa Morrison). Linda was a graduate of Oakridge High School and completed her Bachelor of Arts in 1973 at the University of Western Ontario. She was a founding member of MADD Canada and a founding member, as well as a Director, of MADD London. Linda was an avid reader and a strong supporter of our public libraries, so much so that she became a Board Member of the Oakville Public Library. She was an active long-term participant in the Society for Learning in Retirement, taking the helm of various roles, such as Co-Moderator and Marketing Director. She also enjoyed volunteering at McCormick Dementia Services – Day Program. In keeping with Linda’s compassionate and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate her organs. Linda’s family will be forever grateful for the compassion and care shown by the staff at LHSC – Victoria Hospital Critical Care Trauma Centre. Private inurnment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held at GREENHILLS GOLF CLUB, 4838 Colonel Talbot Road, London, on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Linda are asked to consider London Health Sciences Foundation – Women’s Care Program fund.
