Obituary of Dr. Ljubisa 'Zeko' Zecevic

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Ljubisa Zecevic, former professor at the University of Sarajevo, on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019. Dr. Ljubisa Zecevic was the beloved husband of Emira for 60 years. Loving father of Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic, associate professor at Western University. Dear brother of Milica Buljubasic, and uncle of Boris Osipov, Vaja Tucker and Jana Pozun-Pajovic. Sadly missed by the Zecevic, Buljubasic, Mandic, Pozun, Tanaskovic, and Simovic families, and by his friends and former students. Zeko will be remembered as a visionary who initiated the idea and tirelessly worked on bringing the 1984 Winter Olympic Games to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He lived his life to the fullest. His kindness, care for others and humour will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Stocco, Dr. Dubois and the nursing team at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. A celebration of Dr. Zecevic’s life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Dr. Ljubisa are asked to consider Diabetes Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
