Obituary of David Ernest Carver
Passed away tragically, on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, at the age of 57. Dave was born in London, on October 29, 1961, to Kenneth and Hazel Carver. He was a small business owner, for 33 years, of Carver Sheet Metal Inc. In his high school years, he was a provincial wrestling champion, and later represented Canada in multiple world ultramarathon championships, as well as completing multiple marathons, triathlons, and iron man races. No one could be happier or more excited about a mini Snickers bar than Dave. When not working hard at his family business, he had a strong love of golf, drinking coffee with friends at Angelos, vacationing to his home in Tampa, Florida, playing cards, and above all, showed a great love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his spouse, Catherine Burke, her son James, and four of his five children: Samantha Groot (Thomas), Laura Carver (Justin), Jamie Cashen (Michael) and Michael Carver (Bethany). Also survived by his five grandchildren: David, Ryder, Bryce, Kaylee and Brooklynn; stepchildren Malcolm, Brittany (Geoffrey); newest grandson Colton; sister Beverly Carroll; brothers Joseph Carver (Nancy) and Kenneth Carver (Deborah); multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family whom he kept close. Preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Crystal Carver; mother Hazel Carver; father Kenneth Carver; stepmother Mary Carver; brother Fred Carver; and brother-in-law Barry Carroll. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a reception will be held at Greenhills Golf Club.
