Obituary of George Earl P. Eng. Cook
Passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Chelsey Park Residence in London, Ontario in his 95th year. Born and raised on the family farm outside of Kyle, Saskatchewan on December 26, 1924. His interest in farming and nature developed through the good years and the lean years and through the eras of working with the team of Clydesdales to the first tractor. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan as a Professional Engineer (Agriculture). He had a long and varied career working on engineering projects in Canada and in Indonesia. He enjoyed golf, curling, and gardening and was an active supporter of the church and amateur sports in the communities in which he lived. Always devoted to his family, he returned to London, Ontario to retire near his family. He is survived by his children, Diane (Michael) Dymarski of Norwich, ON, Barbara Cook (Robert Parsons) of Brant County, ON, Carolyn Cook of London, ON, Allan Cook of London, ON, and Catharine (Lloyd) Monteith of Granton, ON; his sister, Emily (Stuart) Whitney of Victoria BC; and his sister-in-law Sue Cook of Saskatoon, SK. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife, Hilda Lank of PEI; his second wife, Patricia Aberdeen of South Africa; his brothers, Linton (Betty) and Reid of Kyle, SK; his sisters, Margaret (Vernon) Barker of Port Colborne, ON and Dorothy (Milton) Lackie of Drummondville, QC; and his parents John ‘Jack’ and Mary Cook of Kyle, SK. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial and interment will take place at a later date at Limehouse, Ontario. We thank the staff and residents at Chelsey Park for their care and devotion.
