Obituary of Hugh Alexander Jones

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the age of 71, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend of Mary Elizabeth (McComb) Jones for 47 years. Beloved father of Shane, Jeremy and Ryan (Rebecca). Adored by his 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Annabelle. Hugh started as an Electrical Operator at Ontario Hydro in January, 1973. Over his 44 years in Woodstock, North Bay, Niagara Falls, London and Barrie, Hugh was known as a trusted co-worker, friend and mentor. The family would like to take the opportunity to thank Valary and Yolanda, the nurses who cared for Hugh at home and the entire staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, that provided comfort and care during his final days. A special thanks to Dr. Stacie Kling. Her dedication, compassion, wisdom and empathy helped Hugh and his family through this trying time. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the ILDERTON COMMUNITY CENTRE, 13168 Ilderton Road, Ilderton, Ontario, on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Hugh, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated by his family.
