Obituary of Viorel Stefan

With heavy hearts, we share the sudden loss of Viorel. Beloved husband of Mihaela for 41 years. Dearest father of Raluca Alexandra. Predeceased by his brother (Horia) and his sister (Ileana). He will be dearly missed by many family members in Romania, who unfortunately cannot be here in person, but share their grief with us and by the many friends he made over the last 24 years in London, Ontario. We are at a loss for words that could fully describe his kindness, generosity, love and devotion to his family. He was endlessly curious about the world around him, from the random wandering ducks in the backyard, to the latest tennis scores or political news. He was passionate about Romania, and was always excited at the prospect of a visit ‘home’, where the familiar sights and faces brought joy to his heart. Most of all, he was generous – with his love, his smile, his time. We will miss him every day of our lives. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 16:00 ~ 19:00, with prayers at 16:00 at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 13:00, at the HOLY CROSS ROMANIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, 47 Adelaide Street South. Interment at WOODLAND CEMETERY, 493 Springbank Drive, London. A meal to bid him goodbye will follow the interment, also being held at the Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Church. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Viorel are asked to consider the Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Church, which will be used towards helping poor families in Romania.
