Obituary of Nina Bagrin
Nina Bagrin was born in Rudnik Dzholambet in the Republic of Kazakstan on April 16, 1950. She entered Heaven’s gates on February 17, 2019 at age 68.
A loving mother and wife, Nina was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed planting flowers and was an exceptional seamstress in her early years. Most of all, Nina loved her family, her mother, husband, four children and six grandchildren.
Nina and her husband dedicated years of their lives in aiding families in the former Soviet Union and spent hours collecting toys and clothes to send to refugee children.
It was her passion to bring her parents, brother and his family from the former U.S.S.R. into Canada. She also aided in the immigration process of thousands of Russian refugees into Canada during the time of the Cold War. Nina’s life was remarkable: she was a selfless soul who radiated love.
Nina was predeceased by her father of 84 years, Vasily Istomin. Nina is survived by her mother Antonina Istomin; husband Vladimir Bagrin; brother Vitaly Istomin and his wife Galya; her daughters: Alla Vallejo, Zhanna Brown and her husband Craig, and Lily Bagrin; and by her son Andrew and his wife Olga. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Christian Vallejo, Amelia Bagrin, Liam Bagrin-Wilson, Sienna Bagrin, Theodore J. Brown and Roman M. Brown.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service celebrating Nina’s life will be conducted on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.
