Obituary of Michael Francis Joseph Arnsby
Peacefully, surrounded by love and special care, Michael Arnsby passed away on December 2, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, Ontario. He will be forever loved and cherished by his partner and wife of 35 years, Evelyn. Michael was the beloved father of Chris, Nicole (Steve), Michael (Victoria), and Mark. Very proud and beloved grandfather of Cameron, Nicholas, Liam, Henry, Evan, William, and baby Freddie. Also survived by his brother, Jerry (Lois) of Toronto, and his very special lifelong precious friends: Thomas Whealy, Larry Chircoski, Jacque Burns, Diane Ridgway, Linda Francis and Robert Pike. Michael was the owner and president of M.F. Arnsby Property Management Ltd. for almost 40 years. Incorporated April, 1979; many of his original clients are still loyal to him to this very day. He loved his business, and took great joy in all the enduring relationships he developed over the forty years. He loved his family and all his many friends, especially when they were together at his cottages in Southcott Pines, and on his island on the French/Pickerel River near Parry Sound. Summer was such a very happy time for Mike, and he enjoyed every second of it, starting May 1, until Thanksgiving, each and every year since 1983. Those who knew Mike, know that he would never have completely retired from the business that he created and loved, but in anticipation of at least semi-retirement, and as the ever thoughtful person he was, he created a legacy to ensure that his beloved company would continue. Mike attributed his success in business to the loyal, dedicated employees that stayed and supported him over many years; it is these same employees, with their incredible skillsets, who will now carry his dream for his company on into the future. As per Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private gathering will take place in early spring to celebrate his very happy life. (Before cottage season starts.) If so desired, a donation to the St. Joseph’s Hospice would be very much appreciated by his family. Very special thanks to Mike’s nurse, Hope, who is gifted beyond measure, and to Sister Cecelia of the Sisters of St. Joseph, who comforted Evelyn in the final days, while making Mike’s final moments peaceful. Their compassion and care was an extraordinary gift that will never be forgotten.
