Marion Epplett

Obituary of Marion Aileen Epplett

Peacefully at her residence, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Marion Aileen Epplett of London, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of Donald for 70 years. Loving mother of Marleen Hodge (Rob) and Bill Epplett (Sandra). Adored grandmother of Trish Epplett and Captain Thomas Epplett. Dear great-grandmother of Elodie Campbell. Predeceased by sisters Jean Barker and Claire Gillespie. Marion was passionate about children; she taught for many years in Barrie. Her generous nature extended to volunteering in her retirement, both in Jekyll Island, Georgia, and at an early primary school in Brunswick, Georgia. She received great joy from music and playing musical instruments; bells, church organ, and piano, to name a few, and loved ingraining her love of music into her children. She was known for her knitting, crafts and baking. Marion delighted in her travels out West, where she visited her adored grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was loved for her generous, kind spirit, her positivity, and her beaming smile. Marion will be sadly missed and always remembered; she may have left us physically, but her warm glow will always shine down on us. A very special thank you to the staff at Amica for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place. At the family’s request, there will be no service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marion are asked to consider Metropolitan United Church or a charity of your choice. “I asked God for water, and He gave me an ocean. I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden. I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of you.”
