Obituary of Sergeant Donald Keddy (Ret'd)
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at University Hospital, London. Born on February 23, 1932, in Middleton, Nova Scotia, Sergeant Keddy was in his 87th year. Donald and his loving and devoted wife, Lillian, were married on March 13, 1953 in Nova Scotia and had celebrated 51 years of marriage at the time of her passing on January 4, 2005. Sergeant Keddy will be missed by his six children: Wendy Nichols, of St. Thomas; Elizabeth Ablenas, of London; the late Donna Martin (2005); Robert Keddy, of London; Wayne Keddy, of London; and Mary Moxley and her husband, Dennis Marshall, of Fingal. Survived by 16 grandchildren: Jenna, Megan, Catlin, Andrew, Phillip, Tara, Rachel, Vanessa, Sheena, Alyssa, Cody, Shane, Emily, Donny, Dustin and Damaris; and by many great-grandchildren. Donald will also be fondly remembered by his devoted friend, Gloria Connell. With tours of duty in Cyprus, Egypt, Germany and other parts of the world, Donald proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years. He will be fondly remembered for his love of music, hunting and fishing. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a Royal Canadian Regiment service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Victory Branch 317, 311 Oakland Avenue, London.
