The world has lost a beautiful soul, a caring loving respectful young man that will make the world a little less bearable without his presence. A good friend to many, and a passion for life that will be missed. He was a role model for my sons and for that I owe him a debt of gratitude. Too often we see our young cherish the greed and evil of this world. I was blessd to have Dave be a positive role for my sons. He showed the heart of a warrior fighting the sickness. I only knew Dave a few months at the Foundation but it didn't take long to realize what an amazing guy he was. I admired him for surviving his first bout of illness certainly but mostly enjoyed his droll sense of humour coupled with straight-ahead sincerity. I had hoped to reconnect with Dave after I left but it didn't happen and that regret is what bothers me the most. I imagine everyone would like another chance to see him again. Which is perhaps one of the best things that can be said about anyone. My condolences to his family and friends.

I only learned of David's passing recently. My sincere sympathies to the family. I taught Dave in Grade seven and he was such a pleasant, polite young man. He had a great sense of humor and exhibited leadership qualities among his peers. He was well liked by everyone. He won the public speaking contest in our class that year and then performed in front of the whole school. I forget the topic but I will never forget his smile. A tragedy for all concerned I am sure.
