Obituary of James (Jim) Duncan

It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Duncan announces his passing on Friday, August 24, 2018. Jim was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick on April 3, 1946 to Arnold and Margaret Duncan, and grew up in Dalhousie. After attending Mount Allison University in Sackville, Jim moved to Owen Sound where he taught math for over 30 years at West Hill Secondary School. After retiring, Jim moved to London and enjoyed spending time with friends, doing on-line jigsaw puzzles, sun tanning and singing in the Pride Men’s Chorus. Jim is survived by his siblings: Jeanne, of Saint John; Judy, of Sarasota; Brian, of Whitby; and Debbie, of Mississauga. Also survived by his nephew, Bryan (Lisa) and niece, Tarah (Russ), and their children: Nyla, Greta, Riley and Mitchell. Jim will be fondly remembered for his sarcastic wit, his generosity and his many acts of kindness. Jim will be greatly missed by his family, including cousins in Ontario and New Brunswick; his adoptive family, Richard and Sonja Green; and the many friends made during his teaching career, his retirement years in London, and his travels across North America, and on-line. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at University and Victoria Hospitals for their compassionate care during his final days. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jim are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program or a charity of your choice.
