Obituary of William 'Bill' Thomas Cooper

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Bill was born in 1927 in Brantford, Ontario. A top student in high school, Bill was accepted to Queen’s University at the age of 17 where he studied Mechanical Engineering and received his degree. He was very proud of earning his iron ring and wore it proudly all of his adult life. After his university studies, he returned to Brantford where he met his wife Shirley Dennis (Cooper). Bill spent the lion’s share of his career at the Ford Motor Company in both Oakville and St. Thomas attaining his highest level as superintendent. He held high level positons in Quality Control and was the Government Regulations Coordinator. He enjoyed working and building a home for his family with Shirley for 66 years. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters: Lynda (Alex Pazaratz) and Sandra (Joe Ryder); two sons: Brian (Sue Haynes) and Scott (Nancy Lewaniak); and seven grandchildren: Michael, Jamie, Sean, Sarah, Carley, Jessica and Erica. A private family service was held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 with burial at Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario.
