Obituary of Margaret Carol Hotz

Goodbye my family, my life has passed. I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take. Love each other for my sake. For those you love don’t go away – they walk beside you, every day! It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Hotz announces her passing on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Margaret leaves behind her three daughters, Debbie (Dave), Doris (Doug) and Dale (Steve), and their families. She is also survived by her youngest brother and special friend, Don, whom she loved dearly. Mom was a kind, giving woman who loved her family and put others before herself. She enjoyed family visits and get-togethers, gardening, playing games, and a good movie or show, preferably a John Wayne western or a Rifleman episode. We will treasure our many memories with Mom. She will be truly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with our Dad, Werner, in heaven. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caring staff at the Dearness Home. Mom and her family really appreciated the help given to her by staff. She had wanted to thank a lot of them, especially those that had become special friends to her. Mom spoke about many of them in her final days. We would especially like to thank Merly for her kind words that helped give Mom the peace that she needed before she passed. Also, many thanks to Adriana Barel from Parkwood Institute. Mom truly enjoyed your regular visits and talks and we greatly appreciated your caring attitude and concern for Mom. In life, we don’t often realize what we had or could have had until it is gone. Cherish each day and treat people in your life with dignity, respect and care. To honour Mom’s request, there will be no funeral service. Those wishing to make a donation in Margaret’s memory are asked to consider the Humane Society London & Middlesex, the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex. See you later, alligator…
