Obituary of Grant Charles Allen

On Friday, November 1, 2019, Grant Charles Allen, 67, of London, Ontario, left this earth peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Much loved father of Pamela (Nick), Krista (Chris) and Carlene (Shaun). Beloved brother of Brenda Gunn and survived by his ex-wife, Dona Mustard. Cherished Grandpa of Kara, Danaka, Caelan and Kamryn. Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Allen. Born October 13th, 1952 in North Bay, Grant grew up in London, Ontario. He began his career in broadcasting as a radio DJ in Kapuskasing at the age of 17. Over the years, his broadcasting career took him to various cities across Southwestern Ontario, including Windsor, Woodstock and London. Although he retired from broadcasting, he never lost his passion for radio and his final years were as rebellious as his first, operating a pirate radio station from home (98.7 FM), as DJ Jack Daniels. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex or VON Middlesex-Elgin.
