Obituary of Sharunas Gverzdys

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Rooney into the realm of our Lord. He weathered the storm of leukemia but not that of kidney cancer. He will be missed every day by his wife of 31 years, Ingrid Thie, and his 4 wonderful kids: Tomas (Leesa), Michael (Andree), Ariana and Marcus. Predeceased by parents, Antanas (2003) and Maria (2008). Survived by brother, Algimantas (Marlene – 2013) of Kitchener and sister, Nijole (Algis) of Toronto, mother-in-law, Irmgard (Walter – 2008) of Ottawa and brother-in-law, Norman of Edmonton. He was fortunate to be born and raised in St. Catharines to Lithuanian immigrant parents who instilled in him a love of Canada and an appreciation of their homeland. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 22, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or donations, he wished for you to do something meaningful for a loved one, for life is short.
