Heather Kemick (Munro)

Obituary of Heather Marie Kemick (Munro)

Heather, 62, of London, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 4, 2017, surrounded by those she loved the most: her family, her chocolates and her fuzzy peaches. Born May 17, 1955, to Robert and Helen Munro (Beal) of Galt, Heather was blessed to spend 43 wonderful years with her high school sweetheart, George Kemick. Devoted mother to April and Morgan, and treasured second Mom to many others, Heather is survived by sister Sue Nagge and brother Rob Munro, and predeceased by brother Bill Munro, all of Cambridge. Heather was a raucous cheerleader at sport events, a card shark and co-host of many memorable parties in Westminster Ponds. Lover of golf, sweet treats and family get-togethers, Heather was the first to give of her time and the last to say an unkind word. She was tremendously grateful for the life she had, lamenting often over the years, “We’re so lucky,” as she took stock of her life’s blessings: a close-knit family, two amazing sons-in-law (Max Voykin and Ryan Bergeron), two beautiful grandsons (Alexei Voykin and Brendan Bergeron), her forever friends, cherished colleagues, far-flung travels and a peaceful cottage repose at Long Point. Heather’s resilience and positivity continue to inspire those who knew her, and we take comfort in knowing she is now in the warm company of old family and friends, catching up while sipping an amaretto and orange juice (in a tall glass). A visitation to celebrate Heather’s life will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a further celebration to follow at a venue to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program at the London Health Sciences Centre, where Heather received world-class care over her 13-year battle with cancer.
