Obituary of Patrick (Badrig) Peter Dermenjian
Pat went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in his 95th year, with his wife Christine by his side. Pat survived the Second World War in Greece and carved a new life in the U.S. and eventually Canada, where he started a family and built his business, Dermenjian Carpets, and eventually two Christian bookstores. Happy father of five children: four daughters: Christina Dermenjian (Benoît Lavergne) of Quebec, Esther Dermenjian of Ontario, Joanna Dermenjian (David Wilson) of Ontario, and Lisa Dermenjian-Cunningham of Alberta; and one son: Berj (Michelle) Dermenjian of Ontario. Proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Emilie, Mélodie, Sarah, Elias, Caleb, Ella, Ayden and Haley. Brother of Aram (Margaret) Dermentjian of Sarnia, Ontario and Alice Prousaeos of Athens, Greece. Uncle to Anne Gaertner, David Blough, and Armen, Diran and Souren Dermentjian and many other nieces and nephews in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 25 years, Nancy (1983); sister Shaké (1921); brother Berje (1944); sister Aida Blough (2015); brothers-in-law: Apostolos Prousaeos (1998) and Dale Blough (2007); and son-in-law Harvey Cunningham (2007). A private family burial will take place before the memorial service.
