Obituary of Doreen Jeanne Faulkner

Suddenly on Saturday, October 21, 2017, Doreen Jeanne Faulkner (née Liley), in her 70th year, passed away at University Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of Philip for 48 years. Cherished and devoted mother of Paula (Jason) and Pamela (Eytan), and loving Nana of Tessa. Fondly remembered and loved dearly by many friends and family, including her sister Kathleen Colman (Frank). Dear friend and sister-in-law of Susan (Faulkner) and Mark Patterson, Stephen (Maureen), and David (Vivienne). Loving aunt of Kirsten, Michelle (Michael), Matthew (Ashley), Kate and other dear nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents (Clifford and Alma Liley). Doreen loved life and she loved living it! She truly enjoyed being a member at Sunningdale Golf Club: her most favourite quote, after a brilliant shot, was “God, I LOVE THIS GAME”! Recently, Doreen fulfilled a wish from her bucket list and spent 3 delightful weeks with her best friend Phil, touring Scotland, Ireland and England. It was truly one of the highlights of her life. Doreen had a large circle of family and friends, and she was happiest spending time with those who made her shine. Her heart was happiest and was most proud when her cherished family were all together. A fabulous host, a caregiver to all, and a loyal and passionate London Knights fan. Every person who knew her was blessed. Doreen will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh, her caring nature, her beautiful smile and her huge heart: our hearts are truly broken. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the CHURCH OF ST. JUDE, 1537 Adelaide Street North, London on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., with Bishop Terry Dance officiating and with visitation at the church one hour prior. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Doreen are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. “God be in my head, and in my understanding; God be in mine eyes, and in my looking – God be in my mouth, and in my speaking; God be in my heart, and in my thinking; God be at mine end, and in my departing.” - H.
