Obituary of William Mervin Blackwell

Passed away peacefully at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, in his 78th year. Dear uncle of Don Broughton and great-uncle of Becky and Robert. Merv is survived by Jayne Broughton and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Victoria (née Plasket) Blackwell; and sisters Isabell Carter (1991), Jean Broughton (1997) and Ellen (Don) Kroeze. Merv will be missed by his community friends. A special ‘thank you’ to the caring staff at Maitland Manor and Goderich Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Merv’s life will be held at the GODERICH LEGION, 56 Kingston Street, Goderich on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Merv’s memory are asked to consider the Goderich Legion or Huron Hospice Volunteers (Clinton).
