Obituary of Helen Mary Burak

Peacefully, on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 – Canada’s 150th birthday, we said our final ‘So Long’ to Helen – better known as Baba. Helen joins her husband Bill (Gigi), their daughter Brenda, and her parents John and Annie Kramer. She was in her 89th year. Baba will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by her son, Brian and favorite daughter-in-law, Patti; her grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Melissa (William); sister-in-law, Joan Sage (John), and their boys Rob, Doug and families. Baba held a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren! She and Gigi were the kids # 1 fans! Rarely, if ever, missed a sporting event, regardless of where they had to travel. Always ready to celebrate with the infamous ‘Picnic’. What great memories we have to cherish! Special thanks to the wonderful team of care providers at South Huron Hospital in Exeter. Their care and compassion, over the last few weeks of Baba’s life, was incredible. ‘The little hospital that does’ certainly does. Thanks also to the staff at Exeter Villa where she resided for one short week. Baba lived her final three years at the Residence on the Thames in Chatham. She grew to love her home there, and the great team of support staff. Thanks for the loving care that was given her. A private family graveside interment will take place Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Thank you to both Westview Funeral Chapel and Forest Lawn Cemetery.
