Obituary of Douglas R. Humphrey

Douglas R. Humphrey 1941 - 2017 It is with mixed emotions of deep sorrow and blessing that we announce the peaceful departure of Doug on Friday, June 30th, 2017. Born on March 27, 1941 in Tillsonburg, Ontario to Cliff and Eleanor Humphrey, Doug was a devoted, hardworking family man, educator, Rotarian, real estate agent and Christian who walked his faith. Beloved husband of the late Carol Humphrey (1998) and loving father of their four children: Kimberley (Owen) Jones, Lynn (Don) Golden, Kelly (Grant) Smith, and Jason (Dawn) Humphrey. Treasured Grandpa to twelve grandchildren. Loving cousin to Gordon (Marylou) Humphrey, who was like a brother to him. Doug was the adored husband of the late Laura Humphrey (2017), and will be deeply missed by her extended family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at NORTH BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH, 6 North Street East, Tillsonburg, where a funeral service to celebrate Doug’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment at Tillsonburg Cemetery will take place on Thursday, July 6th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Doug are asked to consider People International or Samaritan’s Purse.
