Obituary of Leo Michael Hickey

Leo Michael Hickey passed away on Monday June 26, 2017 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Grace Tyrrell. Brother of Eileen Killeen (the late Ray) of Red Deer, Alberta, and the late Carmel Marshall (Bernie). Step father of Randy Tyrrell (Judy) of Ailsa Craig. Loving uncle to nieces and nephews Kevin Marshall, Debbie Marshall, Sean Marshall (Jewell), Carol Ann McDonald and Michael Killeen (Heather). Leo served for fourteen years in Pastoral, Educational and Community work as an Ordained Catholic Priest. Later, he was employed by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services and served in Toronto, Lindsay and London. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Ottawa and was active in both third and fourth degree councils. Leo was an active member of the former St. Joseph’s Parish, the Finance Committee and was co-founder of a ministry for Youth. Leo was an associate member of the royal Canadian Naval Association of London and District. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 777 Valetta Street on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Almonte, Ontario.
