Words just don't seem enough at this difficult time. My heart goes out to you Sherri, Shasta, Jamie & Adam. Our family is so very saddened by your tremendous loss. I can still remember the day that I first met John at the Windmill Park pool while supervising our kids in the pool. That single day started a wonderful friendship and fun between our two families that has lasted for the past three decades and for decades to come. You all have such wonderful memories of a fun-loving guy. May all these memories carry you through your time of grief. John is drumming to his own beat and watching over all of you now from his lofty home in heaven. Our deepest sympathies.

Dear Sherri, Shasta and Jamie-Lynn Words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Your famiy have been wonderful friends and neighbours for the past 24 years. The first week we moved onto the Crescent John came over and introduced himself and the girls. He asked if my children could come over and play in his yard while I unpacked and the friendship blossomed from there. Your family became an extented and cherished part of our family. The neighbourhood won't be the same anymore. Rest in peace dear friend you will be missed xo.

To Sherri, Shasta & Jamie Lynn, Our family can't even imagine the depth of the sorrow you must all be experiencing right now. We know there is nothing at present that can be said by anyone that will stop the tears or justify the ever repeating question running through our minds of "Why did it have to be John"? The reality of this eventually happening to everyone doesn't lessen the personal pain or has ever filled the huge void left to those who survive this ordeal. Stay strong, keep going & don't give up! Be as happy as you can possibly be! You have to know that with the profound love he felt for all of you John wouldn't want it any other way! John is "sleeping" right now! He is resting up for the promise of the much longer life you will all spend together. Very soon all of your tears of sadness will be changed into tears of joy.

Words cannot begin to express the deep and profound loss that you ladies are feeling right now. As you know I respected and loved John for almost 25 years now. John and I had a fantastic relationship from day one, we just clicked. I am sorry Sherri for some of the things that the two of us got into, my bad, at least half the time. JJ was always an inspiration to me never down always up, never any pity in JJ's life even when life threw him this curve ball. He was a very loving father to you girls and always bragged about how proud he was of both of you in your life achievements. Sherri I'm sure you know how John felt about you, he loved you more than anything, for being the wonderful woman that you are, and for putting up with his antics, friends and late nights playing his music. Please accept our deepest condolences on Johns passing, I will always remember John with the up most respect and love and will forever have a hole in my heart for a friend that can never be replaced. We love you Sherri and Shasta and Jamie and if we can ever do anything for you please do not hesitate to ask. You guys have been and forever will be my extended family.

We will miss our visits at the hospital where we discussed every topic from medicals treatments to playing the drums. We discussed our good days and not so good days. It is said, the true measure of a man is not known until you see how he handles adversity and challenge. John took on every curve ball thrown his way with his head held high, defiant and steadfast. He was a tremendous husband, father, son and brother. This is why you earned both our respect and admiration. You will be missed by all who knew you.
