Obituary of Robert Anthony McLeod

McLEOD, Robert Anthony "Tony" Ret'd Air Canada August 2, 1930 - December 4, 2016 Peacefully with family at his side, after a brief battle with pneumonia on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at University Hospital in his 87th year. The son of the late Teresa (McPhee) and Joseph, Tony was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia but spent his adult life in Toronto, Winnipeg and London. Tony enjoyed a long and diverse career with Air Canada which culminated with an extended role (1972-Ret'd 1985) as Airport Manager in London, Ontario. Forever remembered by children: Gerry (Deb), Lynne Rausch (Rick), Mike and Rick; grandchildren: Ryan Rausch (Kathy), Tara Molina (Mario), Leanne Varao (Rob), Jana Murphy (Colin), Jennifer McLeod, Lauren McLeod, Geoffrey McLeod (Melaina), Danielle Prestwich and seven great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by Estrella. He is survived by his brother Basil and family of Chicago, Illinois and many nieces and nephews and their families in the Maritimes. Predeceased by siblings: Ronald, Joseph, Edward, Gerald and Loretta Fitzgerald. Also predeceased by his former wife, Joyce McLeod in 2009. The family would like to thank the staff at Middlesex Terrace in Delaware for their warm support during his short but comfortable residency and to the wonderful medical team at University Hospital for their care and attention. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. Entombment service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Holy Family Chapel Mausoleum, 806 Victoria Street, London. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program or a charity of your choice.
