Obituary of John Van Aarsen

After a long and courageous fight with cancer, John Van Aarsen, in his 63rd year, has lost his fight on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, and is now resting in peace.  John is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Susan, of 24 years.  Cherished father to his children, Tiana (Graeme) Baker, Krista Van Aarsen and Alicia (Bryan) Sodawater along with his stepchildren Jennifer Beatty and Steven (Michelle) Beatty.  John will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren, Ana Branco, Olivia and Violet Baker, Addison Sodawater, Ryker Beatty-Wolters and Natalie and Evan Beatty.  John is the son of Wilhelmina (Charles) Sterling; brother of Mike (Cathy) Van Aarsen, Mary Ann (Bill) Wragg and Tom (Lori) Van Aarsen; brother-in-law of Bonnie (Jim) Boland, Don Waldie, John (Fatima) Little, Debbie (Dave) Pfeiffer and Scott Little.  John will also be missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends.  Visitation will take place at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the London Regional Cancer Program or the Huntington Society of Canada, two charities that were important to John.  Thank you to our family doctor, Dr. Tara Walker, the London Regional Cancer Program doctors and nurses for the care they provided to John over the last three years and Westview Funeral Chapel and Mount Pleasant Cemetery for their help with the arrangements.
