Obituary of Phyllis Marie Wilkins (née Hill)
Phyllis Marie Wilkins (née Hill) passed away peacefully at her residence at Earls Court Village, London, on Friday, October 28th, 2016, with her daughters by her side. She was in her 91st year and had a long struggle with cancer. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert E. Wilkins (2003). Loving mother to her daughters Cheryl Dinnin (Bill) and Lisa Stunda (Tom), she was the beloved grandmother of Aimee Huff, Will Dinnin, Ed Stunda, Tommy Stunda and Shauna Doucette, and great-grandmother of 11. Predeceased by her daughter Sheila Blackwell (2015). Phyl is also survived by her brothers Douglas Hill, Alan Hill and Sherman Hill, and by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Florence and Garfield Hill, her sisters Helen Hawthorne, Eleanor Gidley, Dorothy Davies and Edith Pratley, and her brother Stanley Hill. Phyl was a lifelong and dedicated volunteer, most notably as a charter member and past president of the Huron Country Playhouse Guild; an honorary life member and past regent of the Col. Wm. M. Gartshore Chapter IODE; and an honorary life member of the London Municipal Chapter IODE. She had served on the board of Mission Services and was involved in the Women’s Association of First Baptist Church, London. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, November 4th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Alan Roberts of First Baptist Church, London, officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Donations in Phyl’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church, London or to the Huron Country Playhouse Guild and will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
