Obituary of Claire Louise Grigg (nee Brodhaecker)

Claire went home to be with her Lord, peacefully, on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Donald, she will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Heather) of Burlington, Christina Kettlewell (Paul) of London, Leslie Livingstone (Brian) of Georgetown, and Karen of London. Loving grandmother of Rachel, Sarah, Amber, Joshua, Jodi, Kim, and Bill, and great-grandmother to Grant, Claudia, Ashlynn, Addison, Declan, and Barrett. Simply known as "Mom" to many of her friends, Claire was an active member of Westview Baptist Church, London, until her sickness no longer allowed her to attend. She also took great pride in nurturing her orchids as a member of the London Orchid Society. Claire was a recipient of the St. John's Ambulance ‘Vote of Thanks’ presented by the late Lieutenant Governor General of Ontario, Pauline McGibbon. The family's heartfelt thanks goes to Claire's hematologist, Dr. Hsia, and the Victoria Hospital Palliative Care staff who cared for her so wonderfully in her final days. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH, 1000 Wonderland Road South, London, on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
