Obituary of Robert James Davis

Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2016, Robert “Bob” James Davis, of London, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Rozalia (née Losconczy) Davis for 62 years. Loving father of Carl (Janet), of London and Paul (Jennifer), of Whitby. Proud and loving grandfather of Thomas (Chantelle), Tessa, Taylor and Leah. Bob was born on January 6, 1930 in Forest Hill, Genesee County, Michigan, son of the late John and Florence (née Trevor) Davis. Bob, a Korean War veteran, served in the United States Navy on the USS Witek. One of Bob’s many accomplishments included working for Bendix Aerospace Division in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he engineered scientific instruments placed by the astronauts on the moon’s surface at the lunar landing site of each of the five Apollo missions. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, as well as his pets. Bob had a great sense of humour, he will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew him. The family cannot thank the caretakers enough at McCormick Home for all their kindness and support for the brief time that Bob spent with them. A private family Celebration of Life, and interment of ashes at Mount Pleasant Cemetery will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Robert James Davis are asked to consider the McCormick Home or the charity of their choice.
