Obituary of Jean Brook

Peacefully at home on Sunday, August 21st, 2016, surrounded by her cherished family. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, George; eldest daughter Sue (Ben); son David (Rina); and youngest daughter Kathy (Dave). Jean’s great love and dedication to her seven grandchildren (Jenny, Julia, Michael, Annie, Sarah, Jacob and Stephanie) will forever be appreciated. Jean was an active volunteer throughout her lifetime with the May Court Clubs of Canada, ChildReach, Belton House, and Lorne Avenue Elementary School, always with a special focus on helping underprivileged children. Jean was fortunate to have travelled the world, played bridge in many groups, socialized at the London Hunt and Country Club and celebrated life with family and friends in London, Grand Bend and Anna Maria Island. Our family would like to acknowledge the care provided by the London Regional Cancer Program and thank her dedicated friends who kept Jean’s spirit bright along with her doctors, nurses and support workers who gently guided Jean through her cancer journey. Jean had a beautiful life and a peaceful ending. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Jean’s life will take place at RIVERSIDE UNITED CHURCH, 695 Riverside Drive, London, on Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at the London Hunt and Country Club commencing at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Jean’s memory are asked to consider the May Court Club of London or the Canadian Cancer Society.
