Obituary of Thomas Harold Wade

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, on May 27, 2016, at the age of 84. Born in Wingham, Ontario, on November 8, 1931, to the late Clarence and Mary (Nethery) Wade of Belgrave, Ontario. Tom had a dry sense of humour and a genuine, kind heart and concern for others. Beloved husband of Jean (McPherson) Wade. Brother of Dorothy Cruickshank. Brother-in-law of Florence Snell. Loving father of Rhonda Addeman (Ken), Dan Wade (Elizabeth), Mary Lou Ross (Matthew), Barry Wade (Susanne), David Wade (Elizabeth) and Paul Wade (Valerie). Cherished grandfather of Kevin (Alison), Kelly (Bart), Bryan, Amanda, Sarah, Marcus, McKenzie, Robert, Lindsay, Rachel, Thomas and Gareth, and great-grandfather of Emma, Zoe and Olivia. Predeceased by his grandson Nathan Wade and brothers-in-law Raymond Snell and Gerald Cruickshank. Tom had a life-long fascination with flying and expressed that through building and flying model airplanes, most recently as a member of the Forest City Flyers Club. He also enjoyed photography and could often be found behind the lens capturing his family’s memories. His family wishes to thank staff and volunteers at Victoria Hospital Palliative Care and St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, for the exceptional care provided to Tom. A private Celebration of Life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel.
