Obituary of Theodore Loukas

Peacefully at University Hospital on Thursday, November 26, 2015, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Chloy Loukas. Predeceased by his first wife Angeliki Loukas (1966). Cherished father of Gus (Anne) Loukas and Georgina (John) Mihalopulos. Adored grandfather of George, Ted and Angelika Mihalopulos, and Ted, Angelika and Athena Loukas, and the late Jeremy Norris. Survived by his siblings Koula, Golfo and Aristides. Theodore Kostantinos Loukas was born on March 10, 1922, in Arachova Nafpaktias, Greece. He was the 5th oldest in the family, of 11 children. Terry was an officer in the underground resistance (better known as the Andartes), in the western part of Greece. The Resistance fighters along with special British forces succeeded in this mission together. In his later years, when he retired, Terry spearheaded the Antistasei organization here in London, Ontario. It was an organization he held dear to his heart, involving war veterans who devoted their time and fundraising efforts to many philanthropic causes. One of their most cherished causes was raising money for the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario, here in London. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday from 6:00-9:00 p.m., with prayers at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, 131 Southdale Road West, London, on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Donations in memory of Terry made to the Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
