Obituary of Paul Coulter McLean

Passed away at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the age of 91. Predeceased by his loving wife Charlotte Jean (née Nichol). He will be missed by his children: Betsy Holbert, Roderick McLean and Caroline Mashinter. Paul is survived by his grandchildren: Alexander Gordon, Adam Gordon, Heather Gordon, Cameron McLean, Coulter McLean, Aidan McLean, Carling Mashinter and Wynn Mashinter, along with his great-grandchildren: Thorin, Keaton and Daelah. He is predeceased by his cherished friend, Kelly Stringer, and he will be dearly missed by his good friend, Kathy Andrews. Paul was a veteran of World War II, where he served his country as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He earned his Master of Science Degree from the University of Toronto and worked as a consulting geologist, with a specialty in gold mining. Paul’s most cherished place to be was at his cottage on Eagle Lake in Machar Township, as he enjoyed working in his rose garden and sharing it with those who would stop by for a visit. A gathering will be held at the SUNDRIDGE LEGION, 45 Ontario Street, Sundridge, on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., for those who wish to drop in to remember and celebrate Paul’s life.
