Obituary of Jim Honsberger

It is with sad and heavy hearts that the family of Jim Honsberger announce his passing on Friday, August 28th, 2015 at University Hospital at the age of 72. Loving and loved husband of 49 years to Carole. Cherished father of Shannon and Greg Honsberger. Adored Grampa of Amber, Meaghan, Jordyn and Cameron. Dear brother of Bonnie Duff (Dennis) and brother-in-law of Joan King (Camille). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was passionate about volunteering with the Byron Optimists, the Track 3 Ski Program and Meals on Wheels, and also organized the “City Employees” ski bus for 34 years. Jim was a believer in supporting and giving to the community and, with that in mind, his final wish was to bequeath his body to UWO. A memorial reception to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., with words of remembrance at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Jim’s memory are asked to consider the Cardiac Fitness Institute or the Optimist Club of Byron.
