Obituary of Sheila Gwendolyn Breckman

BRECKMAN, Sheila Gwendolyn – Sheila was welcomed into the arms of Jesus peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in her 86th year. Sheila was the daughter of Halldor and Phyllis Breckman. Loving sister of Donna (Norm) Aitken, Phyllis (Dan) McTavish and Sharon (George) Clemens. Special aunt of Julia (Wayne) Corbett, Kari Aitken, Tim (Isabel) Tyrrell, Tom Tyrrell, Terry (John) Anderson, Tammy Tyrrell, Jennifer (Bob) Fergus, Pam (Rick) Kerrigan, Al (Sharon) Clemens, Steve (Kaleigh) Clemens and Christine (Matt) daCosta. Cherished by sixteen great-nieces and nephews, and fourteen great-great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Beverley Tyrrell (2010) and nephew Wayne Clemens (2014). Sheila was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to Geraldton, Ontario then to Sault Ste. Marie where she graduated from high school. Sheila went to Toronto Teacher’s College and returned to the Soo, to teach. When the family moved to London, Ontario, Sheila graduated from Western University and taught in London. She followed the Lord’s call on her life to serve Him in Chad, Africa. In preparation for service there, she studied French in Neuchatel, Switzerland and Paris, France. She taught the children of missionaries at Palmview School in Koutou, Chad from 1959 to 1994. While retired, she enjoyed teaching ESL to foreign students at Western University. The funeral will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Sheila are asked to consider TEAM - The Evangelical Alliance Mission or Heritage College and Seminary.
