Obituary of John Michael Marlborough

On Saturday, March 21, 2015 at McGarrell Place, London, at the age of 74. Beloved husband and best friend of Lynda. Dear father of Michelle and Matthew. Cherished brother of Gerry (Maureen), Mary Ellen, Lorri (Jim) Williams, and Marnie (Jim) Dahonick. Mike will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews: David (Jennifer), Karyn, Brad (Jody), Wayne (Claudia), Michael, Ryan, Christine (Chris) and Greg, as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition, he will be lovingly remembered by Lynda's brother David (Kathy) Smyth and family and her sister Lorna Smyth. Mike thoroughly enjoyed his 38 years of teaching in the Physics and Astronomy Department at the University of Western Ontario, before retiring as Professor Emeritus in 2005. Mike's entire family extend deepest thanks to Dr. Paul Ferner and all the outstanding staff of McGarrell Place for providing such compassionate and loving care. A visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service and interment will be held at GLENDALE MEMORIAL GARDENS, 1810 Albion Road, Etobicoke, Ontario on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 am. with visitation 1 hour before service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Outreach Services of McCormick Home or McGarrell Place Palliative Care Team would be greatly appreciated.
