Obituary of W. Howard Henderson

It is with great sadness that the family of W. Howard Henderson (age 73) announces his passing after a short stay at his beloved University Hospital (London) on Monday March 16, 2015. Howard is survived by his siblings Irwin, Cecil (Ghislaine) and Shirley (Lorne Dundas). Beloved Uncle “DOC” to his nieces and nephews Nancy Henderson, Brian Dundas, Laurie Rocco (Dave), Lisa Henderson (Peter Ingleton), Linda Cruikshank (Joe) and Robbie Henderson. Great Uncle (in every sense of the word) to Matthew, Julia, Riley, Taylor, Max, Austin, Noah, Kayla and Ella. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Alma Henderson and sister-in-law Edith Henderson. Remembered by his extended family and many special friends. Howard was a long time employee of University Hospital London and a volunteer there for the past 13 years since his retirement. He was an active square dancer, skater, lawn bowler, member of Rowntree Memorial United Church and volunteer at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. He will be greatly missed by his “extended families” at many of the local restaurants that he frequented regularly. His smile, his hats and his cheerful demeanor brought much joy to all that he met and touched with his warm heart. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Howard are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation, University Hospital.
