HEAD, Robert Colin – 1939-2015
“Everything was almost perfect”
Following a rich and happy life, Bob passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the age of 75 from heart-related problems. Beloved husband for 51 years of Carol Lynne (née Jacques). Loving father of Stephen of Guelph, Gordon (Milena) of Ancaster, and Donald (Carrie) of Oakville. Bob was the adored Poppa of Megan and Evan. He was the son of Marion (née Smeltzer) and Melville Head. He is survived by his sister Patricia (Jim Williams), niece Carolyn (Richard Williams), nephew Andrew, and grand-nephew Oliver. A beloved teacher and mentor for 33 years, he inspired the passion for music among countless number of students. He taught for the Toronto District School Board and the Thames Valley District School Board (Beck, Banting, Lucas and Saunders). He was a co-founder of the National Music Camp of Canada and was its inaugural Music Director for 31 years. His passion for music was felt around the world, as he introduced the classroom method of teaching music in Germany for almost 8 years. An avid bridge player, who was just short of his Gold Life Master. Later in life he discovered the thrill and frustration of the Links. His infectious laugh could be heard across the golf course as he thoroughly enjoyed playing with good friends and family. Relatives and friends will be received at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
