Obituary of Reinhardt 'Ron' Tippel

Peacefully, on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at Victoria Hospital, in his 80th year, after a short battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend for over 53 years to Pauline (née Bauman). Dear Dad to three sons: Gary (Leona), Glenn and Stephen. Proud Papa to Jessica, Jarrett, Jacob and Jonathan. Survived by two sisters in Hungary, Dr. Margaret Torok, and Anna-Maria (Tihamer) Toth, three sisters in Canada, Elisabeth Fritz, Katherine Landon and Eva Tippel, and sisters-in-law Willi (Kerry) Robinson and Lorraine Bauman. Missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Henry (2009). Ron was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1953. He excelled in helping people, was a leader in the community and selflessly gave to others, especially his family. Ron owned Aquatech Pools, a large swimming pool and landscaping firm, and was the building chairman of LGT Family Church and the Andover Gardens Seniors Apartments. Always aiming higher, he soon found his true calling and joined Investors Group as a financial planner in London in 1982. Ron retired in 2007 to a new-found passion for wind instruments and enjoyed playing sax and clarinet in small groups. His passion, integrity, keen business sense and quirky sense of humour will be missed. The family thanks the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Victoria Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Ron are asked to consider the Salvation Army or Mission Services of London.
