Obituary of Frederick "Fred" Andrew McNaught

Peacefully, with his family by his side at Victoria Hospital, on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Beloved husband of Elaine. Loving father of Debra (Patrick) Walko, Susan (John) Sands, and Fraser (Lidia) McNaught, and step-father of Karen (Sandy) Harrington and Derek (Wendy) Henderson. Proud Papa of Leah, Eryn, Logan, Emily, Maeve, Liv, Angus, Lucy and Emma. Dear brother of Ebeth Graham; brother-in-law of: Gwen MacNaught, Bernard McMullen, Larry Wilson and Dwight (Gayle) Esler. Also missed by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by his first wife, Molly; brother, John MacNaught; sister, Moyra McMullen; brother-in-law, Mac Graham, and sister-in-law, Marg Wilson. In addition to his family life, Fred was an educator and a business executive, who valued people. He had a keen interest in politics, sports, coaching and charitable work. Fred inspired many, through his charisma, passion and sense of humour. As he told his grandchildren: “when you wake up each morning, make a commitment to do something kind for someone every day.” At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
